Renewal, growth and hope are all implied; in the case of ‘Glimmers of Hope’ installations, these are explicitly in defiance of the death and devastation of war.
This installation comprised a set of ceramic figures and specially selected photographs from the Hackney Archives. It was made in memory of those who lost their lives on the 4th January 1945, when a V-2 rocket hit the original Dalston library killing many people, including a significant number of children.
This installation was part of a London wide Remembrance Day series of art interventions named Silent Cacophony, exploring how we all construct our opinion on war and conflict.
